Welcome! I am so glad you stopped by to learn more about me.
My name is Peyton Curley, and I am the creator of The Social Emotional Teacher.
I taught in the classroom for 5 years. I started my career teaching 3rd grade at the largest and most diverse elementary school in Nashville, TN. I loved being immersed in so many cultures in my classroom. After 3 years there, I moved to Louisville, KY where I taught at a non-profit school for boys. I had a whole class of 1st grade boys! I loved the experience of working for a non-profit and adored the boys I got to know during my time there.
After 5 years of teaching, I decided to leave the classroom to pursue my passion for creating Social Emotional Learning resources full-time. My time in the classroom showed me both the need for social emotional learning as a daily part of education and the immense benefits it has on students. My mission is to nurture and empower our students through SEL!
I’m also the author of Growth Mindset Workbook for Kids and Lily & Nico: Social Skills Stories. Having the opportunity to teach kids about SEL through both fiction and non-fiction books has been such a gift!
The connections I’ve made with teachers, both through my time in the classroom and through my business have been invaluable. There really is no one who truly gets the joys and pains of teacher other than teachers themselves.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, my fur-baby – Crouton, reading, roaming the aisles of Target, all things crafty, and as many naps as I can squeeze in!
I am here to be a resource and a friend to you in any way that I can. Please feel free to reach out to me by clicking the CONNECT tab at the top of the page.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope to see you again!
