Mindfulness Activities for Testing Week
Are you looking for a way to help your students relax during testing week? Research shows that practicing mindfulness in the classroom can lead to increased academic achievement, but most importantly, it nurtures our students' social & emotional health.
This product is designed to be used before or during testing week as dedicated time to practice mindfulness and prepare for or unwind from the day's tests.
There are 6 mindfulness activities included in the product:
1. Positive Affirmation Testing Mantra Banners -- Students will create their own testing mantra banner with a positive affirmation for when they are feeling anxious during testing. These make a great display in the room or hallway during testing week!
2. Mindful Coloring Whole Group Activity -- Students will practice mindful coloring while decorating letters to display the words
"Take a deep breath.
Go with the flow.
Just do your best, and show what you know!"
3. Mindful Scoot -- This mindfulness scoot includes 12 stations with different breathing exercises and mindfulness activities. Each station only takes a couple of minutes, and really helps students relax while also giving them a chance to move around the room!
4. Zen Walk -- Directions for leading a "Zen Walk" as well as a 5 sense reflection sheet are included.
5. Stress Relief Bubble Pop -- All you need is bubble wrap! This product includes foldable signs to go over a piece of bubble wrap. Students can pop a bubble when they feel anxious!
6. Yoga Slideshow -- A slideshow with 26 yoga poses is included in this product. Each slide shows a clip art image of a child doing the pose as well as written step by step instructions for completing the pose.
